Original surf music from Byron Bay - is 'Mal and the Longboarders'. This group of fun loving, surf nuts have been playing, writing and recording their music for well over a decade now. Inspired by their combined love of surfing (yes, they all surf!), the band has recorded 4 CD's, all independent productions, reflecting a definite Aussie take on longboarding specifically, but also surfing in general. 'The Other Side' is the title of their latest collaboration (released in September 2008), the most expansive expression to date, drawing on a variety of musical influences, surf, love and lifestyle inspired lyrics - revealing the creative development of the band.

The band is back on the road in 2009 after a mainly quite year in 2008 with most time spent in the studio. This year will see the band playing at longboard comps up and down the east coast, along with a sprinkling of pub and club gigs.
